About the Course

The Introduction to SAFe: Navigating Scaled Agile Framework course is designed for professionals, project managers, and anyone interested in understanding how large organizations use agile practices to deliver value faster and work more flexibly. You’ll start by exploring the core principles of Lean and the Agile Manifesto, and see how SAFe helps organizations become more adaptable and customer-focused. In the first module, you’ll dive into the foundations of SAFe and Lean principles, learning how these frameworks help orchestrate seamless, efficient, and customer-centric processes in today’s fast-paced business landscape. You’ll see real-world examples of SAFe implementations and understand the evolution of agile and the need for scaling. The second module covers the most popular agile methodologies—Scrum and Kanban—and explains how quality practices like agile testing and automation ensure exceptional project outcomes. You’ll also learn how to build effective agile teams and understand the responsibilities of Scrum Masters and Product Owners. The final module explores the Agile Release Train (ART), showing how cross-functional teams work together to deliver value at scale. You’ll gain insights into the roles of Release Train Engineer, Product Manager, System Architect, and others, and see how the ART enables customer-centric project delivery. By the end of this course, you will confidently: 1. Understand and apply Lean and Agile principles in the context of SAFe. 2. Identify and compare agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and quality practices. 3. Explore the formation and dynamics of agile teams within SAFe, including key roles and responsibilities. 4. Gain practical insights into the Agile Release Train and the people who drive large-scale agile delivery. This course is ideal for those who: - Want a step-by-step, hands-on introduction to SAFe and scaled agile certification. - Are new to agile or looking to upskill for agile leadership and project management roles. - Prefer learning by doing and applying knowledge to real-world agile projects. - Are preparing for job interviews, promotions, or SAFe agile certification. Most of the questions from "Foundations of SAFe and Lean Principles Quiz" were not based on the material presented in the videos or the reading sections. The Foundations of SAFe and Lean Principles videos were not entertaining and not eye opening for SAFe beginners, the only reason I understood some concepts was because I already work with a similar framework BCGs Annual Business Reviews/Quarterly Business Reviews.

Module 1 - The course is interesting. The exchanges with Coach help us to understand and reflect on the subjects covered. However, I don't understand the point of asking questions on subjects that will be covered in future modules. It's demotivating for learners. I hope the quizz on others modules won't be the same.

Nice introduction to understand SAFe, even if videos are a bit monotonous. Unfortunately References for further reading quite often lead to articles from different web portals requiring paid registration.

Good overall introduction to SAFe. However, some of the quiz questions are related to current events and may become outdated quickly and/or not referenced in the training material.

This course is good for gaining basic knowledge. The images used in the slides are not clear enough, should have been better.

The article on history of Agile has many inaccuracies "It is called the manifesto for agile software development, not the Agile Manifesto. The history for the manifesto is published alongside it so why not link and cite the original source? SCRUM, XP, Kanban and other new ways of working for software development already existed (some as early as 1950's) before manifesto for agile software development was written in 2001. The manifesto itself is a set of 4 values and 12 principles, that these new ways of working had in common and that the group of men who authored the manifesto could all agree upon. It's not a methodology or framework. The use of the frameworks and methodologies, that did align on these values & principles, increased after the manifesto was written.

Gives a reasonable foundation for the basics of SAFe framework. However, while the syllabus progresses in a logical manner, the content is at time disjointed. Also, most of the videos are 98% verbatim reading of the slides without further explanation or expansion on the topics. Diagrams are also usually fuzzy and unreadable on screen. Further reading links often lead to "infomercial" pages, some littered with ads and distracting pop-ups - you'd think that a course would aim at more solid references. With little polish and expansion, this module could be really valuable to set the scene for further, well-grounded learning.

The course provided a good overview but the presentation by the teacher was lacking. There were audio issues as well as distractions, including how the slides were highlighted and talked through with moving mouse cursor or having the cursor in the way of content.

The training has a lot of material, there is a lot of background noise.

The course is basically the instructor reading a bunch of PowerPoints. It lacks real world examples and the reference of where all the content used in the PowerPoints are coming from. There are indeed some useful information on this course, but it requires the user to have basic knowledge of Agile.

Poorly designed, superficial, more concerned with asking trick questions and assigning a certificate than actually teach anything. Lots of the questions were not even covered in the training material! Does introduce some of the concepts well enough, though.

The lessons presented did not cover the test material. There is a disconnect between the course materials and the tests as well. The presenter appears to be reading the slides and not providing useful information to address the graded assignments.

The instructor only reads the text in his slides and does not explain further. The "Read more" links send you to articles that sometimes have nothing to do with the subject. It gives a good base knowledge but the standard is low.

Knowledge in Agile Framework is a pre from my point of view. Training provides basic information about SAFe and how it is linked to Agile. I miss some practical examples. Didactics and material must be improved.
