About the Course

Ready to apply your AI skills in a real-world scenario you can showcase in your portfolio? During this project, you’ll work with the deep learning skills you’ve acquired throughout the Professional Certificate, and we recommend that you have completed all the previous courses before starting this one. For this project, you’ll build and compare deep learning models using Keras and PyTorch, and work through a full development pipeline from data loading and augmentation to model training, evaluation, and deployment. You’ll apply convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and vision transformers to domain-specific challenges. Then, finally, you’ll assess performance using metrics like accuracy, precision, and inference speed. By the end of the project, you’ll be able to demonstrate your skills in building and comparing models using Keras and PyTorch. Plus, you’ll be able to showcase that you can implement CNNs and vision transformers and evaluate your model’s performance. If you’re ready to complete a portfolio-worthy capstone project, enroll today!...

Deep Learning may be challenging, and though training a model is tedious and takes a lot of time, the classification and detection performance could be enhanced by using pre-trained CNN models.

The capstone of the project was really good it helped me to understand the deep learning concepts clearly for providing the solution.

Code is littered with non-fatal errors, inconsistent spacing in every line. Many core methods used are deprecated by a decade, have no use anymore, but their implementation is a key focus in the course. All quiz questions have zero connection to the topic, library or application, but are exclusively focused on the exact details of the preceding labs, like "which of these smooth identical looking concrete pictures was the third sample of the fifth batch from the test set?". The dataset sizes in the labs are also absurd, unzipping literally broke the provided environment multiple times, taking hours at a time to complete, just to crash in the end. The training times are just as absurd, spent the last 4 hours training a model on the provided dataset with the required parameters for a single epoch, and it's been stuck on the last 57 seconds for over 30 minutes, unlikely to finish. Just pain, and practically no use use.

Learning content was good, but making assignments was a nigthmare, I could not set up an IBM Cloud account, becasue they could not verify my payment card, when i asked them to help me, they just responded "We have reviewed your account/transaction and will not be able to offer services. No further information will be disclosed regarding this matter. Any card authorizations will reverse within 24-72 hours depending on the issuing bank.". They ghosted me completely and did not want to help. I do not recommend. It's no wonder that with this kind of customer attitude IBM is far behind the competition today.

This course is useless. The materials need to be updated. The Jupyter Notebook environment, unfortunately, cannot handle the course tasks. For example, while working on the practice in module 4, I had to wait 20 minutes for the model to download, then about an hour for the archive to extract. In the end, the Python engine froze, and I could no longer restart it or re-enter the lab.

The videos and learning material are great. Same for the instructors. But working on the assignments is so draining. The datasets take hours to load and the models take ages to train. The kernel keeps crashing. I spent days on a project that should have been done in minutes.

The tests were highly underwhelming and too easy. It felt like the course creators do not have a high opinion of their students.
